EPF Data Correction Online: Required documents for PF Name Correction

In India, a significant proportion of the population is employed, with many individuals working in the private sector.

The government permits investments through the Employee Provident Fund to ensure financial security for employees after retirement. This scheme requires employees and the company to make equal monthly contributions.

Mistakes made during PF data entry can lead to withdrawal and other issues. Correcting spelling mistakes and other PF data errors was previously considered very difficult.

However, technological advancements have made correcting EPF data online easier. Now, let’s explore the documents required to correct EPF data.

Making changes to the name involves two categories of mistakes: major and minor. It is considered a major mistake when more than three letters in the name need to be changed. Any changes to the entire name for the first time are also classified as major mistakes.

If less than three letters need to be changed, it is a minor mistake. Removing honorifics such as Mr., Dr., Mrs., and Miss is also considered a minor mistake.

Three proofs are required for major mistakes, while providing two proofs is sufficient to correct minor errors. The following documents are needed for EPF data correction:
