New Single Unified Pension Form 6A for Retiring Employees

The Central Government has released a New Single Simplified Pension Application form, Form 6A, for retiring employees. The new form is a significant step towards the government’s vision of “Maximum Governance—Minimum Government.”

It aims to simplify and streamline the pension process, making it more efficient and user-friendly for retired employees.

It merges the previous nine forms/formats, requiring employees to sign it electronically. This digitizes the entire pension process from post-retirement to the commencement of pension payment.

Starting in December 2024, “Form 6A” will be available in Bhavishya or e-HRMS for all Central Government employees retiring afterward.

9 Forms Merged Into Single Form: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh Unveils New Single Unified Pension Form 6A for Senior Citizens on August 30th, 2024.

This single form aims to simplify the pension process for older people, and these reforms are intended to improve the lives of senior citizens.

In a significant move meant to enhance the ease of living for senior citizens and pensioners nationwide, the Union Minister introduced a single unified form, consolidating nine separate forms into one “Form 6-A” and integrating e-HRMS with Bhavishya.

This initiative reflects the Prime Minister’s commitment to simplifying processes for senior citizens, enabling them to contribute effectively to the vision of “Viksit Bharat” by preserving their energies and expertise while saving their valuable time.

These initiatives have been instrumental in ensuring transparency, efficiency, and a seamless experience for pensioners across the country.

E-HRMS and Bhavishya: Retiring officials on e-HRMS will fill out Form 6-A through e-HRMS (only Superannuation cases), and retiring officials who are not on e-HRMS will fill out Form 6-A in Bhavishya. Submission of Form 6A by the Pensioner with a single e-sign (Aadhaar-based OTP) will be sufficient.

Additionally, Dr. Jitendra Singh released a Gazette Notification of the New Single Pension Application Form. This is a vital step towards easing the lives of retiring officials, along with a Compendium of Pension-related Instructions.

The newly launched unified form is designed to streamline the process for pensioners, reducing the complexity of handling multiple forms and significantly reducing the time and effort required.

This user-friendly approach is expected to benefit millions of senior citizens, enabling them to manage their pension-related matters more quickly and conveniently.

The Central Government remains committed to empowering senior citizens and harnessing their wisdom and experience for the nation’s development.

This latest initiative is a testament to the continued efforts to simplify and improve the systems that directly impact the lives of the elderly population.

The Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare has developed an “Integrated Pensioners’ Portal” using the Bhavishya platform as the base to provide a Common Single-Window Portal for pensioners and elderly citizens.

The State Bank of India, Canara Bank, Punjab National Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Union Bank of India, and Central Bank of India have already integrated their Pension Portals with the Integrated Pensioners Portal.

Presently, these banks provide four facilities:

  • Monthly pension slips the
  • Status of life certificates
  • Submission of Form 16 of the Pensioner
  • Due and drawn statements of pension arrears paid

The Central Government aims to integrate all Pension Disbursing Banks with this portal for a unified user experience.

Furthermore, the Central Pension Accounting Office (CPAO) has warned pensioners to be vigilant against potential fraud. There have been reports of individuals posing as officials and soliciting personal information.

Pensioners are advised to exercise caution and refrain from sharing their PPO number, date of birth, or bank account details with anyone.

As a government, we are committed to ensuring the security and well-being of our pensioners. We urge you to refrain from sharing your PPO number, date of birth, or bank account details with anyone, as neither CPAO nor government agencies would ask for such information.
