The Andhra Pradesh government has launched the AP Aasara Pension Scheme, a social security pension scheme that provides financial support to the needy and vulnerable sections of society.

The NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme is a testament to this dedication. It aims to enhance the pension amount, alleviate the hardships of the poor and vulnerable, especially the elderly, widows, persons with disabilities, and others, and secure a dignified life for all.
Despite challenging financial conditions, orders were issued via G.O.Ms.No.43 Dated 13.06.2024, enhancing various groups’ Social Security Pension amounts.
The monthly pensions were increased to Rs. 4000 for Old Age People, Widows, Toddler Tappers, Weavers, Single women, Fishermen, ART (PLHIV) People, Traditional Cobblers, Transgender people, and Dappu Artists.
Additionally, the amount was increased to Rs. 6000 per month for Disabled People and Multi-Deformity Leprosy People and Rs. 10,000 per month for Fully Disabled People. Those affected by chronic diseases were also provided with increased pension amounts.
The enhanced scale of pensions shall be payable from July 2024 onwards.

AP Social Security Pension Amount
The monthly AP Social Security Pension amount for the elderly, disabled, and widows under the AP Social Security Pension scheme is as follows:
- Senior citizens: Rs. 4,000 per month.
- Physically disabled: Rs. 6,000 per month.
- Widows: Rs. 4,000 per month.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Elderly individuals above 60 years
- Disabled individuals with a disability of 40% or more
- Vulnerable individuals, including widows and orphans
- Residents of Andhra Pradesh
