UPI Payments Now Accepted with Credit Cards

The Unified Payment Interface (UPI) is widely used in India to make payments, from grocery purchases to hospital bills.

The National Payments Corporation of India has now allowed UPI payments to be made using credit cards, which only applies to Rupee network cards. Rupee credit card users can link their UPI ID to make payments.

To ease the burden of paying UPI bills at the end of the month, the Bank of Baroda has decided to allow Rupee credit card users to convert their UPI payment bills into EMIs.

Both online and offline UPI transactions can be converted into EMIs, and users can access their transaction history in UPI apps to transform their Rupee credit card payments into EMIs.

This new service aims to provide customers with more convenient payment options, especially during the festive season.

According to Ravindra Roy, the Hole Time Director at BOB Card Limited, these EMI services are available in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities and have been introduced in partnership with Rupee.

Users can convert Person-to-Merchant Transactions into EMIs by scanning the QR code and selecting the BOB CC option for payment.

Multiple EMI options are available, and users need to select the desired one and complete the transaction.

Additionally, Person-to-Merchant Transactions can be converted into EMIs even after the purchase is completed. Users can do this by going to the Transaction History page in the UPI app, choosing the transactions they want to convert, and then checking their eligibility for EMI conversion.

If the transaction is eligible, customers should select the BOB CC EMI Conversion Mode, choose the desired EMI option, and enter their PIN to complete the process.
