Benefits of Using Aadhaar ATM for Cash Withdrawal

If you need cash urgently and there’s no ATM nearby, don’t worry—there’s a convenient solution! Nowadays, you can easily make digital transactions, whether buying a cup of tea or handling larger payments using services like PhonePe or Google Pay.

Digital payments eliminate the need for physical cash, making transactions more straightforward and more transparent while also helping reduce tax evasion.

That’s why both central and state governments are prioritizing online payments. However, it’s important to remain cautious, as online transactions can sometimes lead to cyber theft.

In certain situations, you may still need physical cash. When that happens, we typically search for the nearest ATM or bank.

Fortunately, the postal department has introduced a new service called Aadhaar ATM (AePS), allowing you to withdraw cash from the comfort of your home. This service is provided by India Post Payments Bank (IPPB).

Contact your local post office or inform your postman to use this service. Your Aadhaar must be linked to your bank account, and your biometric information must be registered for the transaction to succeed.

With this system, you can withdraw cash, check your account balance, get a mini statement, or transfer money to other banks—all from home, with the assurance of stringent security measures in place.

There are no fees for the online Aadhaar ATM services, although you must pay a service charge to the mail carrier to deliver the service to your house.

While carrying your Aadhaar card is unnecessary, you must have linked your Aadhaar number to your bank account to complete the transaction.

After withdrawing cash, the Indian Postal Service and your bank will send an SMS detailing the transaction to your registered mobile number.

There are no additional charges for using the AEPS ATM services; only the amount withdrawn will be deducted from your account.

The Indian Postal Service and your bank will not impose any extra fees. Just remember to pay the postman his service charge.

This service brings the ATM to your doorstep in emergencies, ensuring you can access your funds without leaving home. This convenience can provide a sense of reassurance and preparedness in unexpected situations.
