Family Digital Card for Citizens: Check Benefits and Features

The government has decided to issue Telangana Family Digital Cards to every family in the state. This initiative will be particularly beneficial as it will provide access to a comprehensive database of every family in the state.

The proposed Telangana Family Digital Card will include all the details of the entire family, such as their financial status, caste, and personal information, along with their photos.

It’s important to note that the head of the family, the eldest woman, will play a key role in the card issuance process. The card will be issued to all members of the same family.

The card will be standard for applying for government schemes, purchasing goods through subsidized shops, housing schemes, health insurance, pensions, and more.

It will also be used to access government services. The card will make it easy to select beneficiaries for government schemes in advance without time-consuming identification processes.

The details of the family members will be collected directly by going door to door, eliminating the need to provide family information repeatedly.

The card will facilitate easy social audits of government schemes. Similar model identity cards are already being issued in five country states.

This family identity card enables easy identification of each family and considers the family as a unit. Each person will also be given a unique identification number.

Suppose any member, especially a woman, gets married and moves to another family. In that case, their name will be added to the old number on the family digital card of that family, while the personal number remains the same.

The Telangana Family Digital Card will contain comprehensive information about each family member, including their name, mobile number, date of birth, social group, age, kinship, Aadhaar card number, and address.

This wealth of information will be a valuable resource for the government when selecting beneficiaries for various schemes.

These family digital cards are currently being issued, and the process of selecting beneficiaries for government schemes will commence in the next period.
