The Government of India is implementing various schemes to benefit the country’s people, including health-related initiatives.
Medical expenses have become increasingly unaffordable. In India, a large portion of the population, particularly the underprivileged, cannot afford expensive medical treatments.
In 2018, the Government of India introduced the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana to address this issue.
The government of India provides eligible beneficiaries with free medical treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh through the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Individuals must have an Ayushman card issued in their name to avail of this scheme’s benefits.
How to Apply for an Ayushman Card Offline?
- For those interested in obtaining an Ayushman card, the first step is to visit the nearest Common Service Center (CSC).
- Here, eligible individuals can provide the necessary details, which the CSC representative will assess.
- The representative will then guide them through the process, including submitting the required documents and subsequently applying to the government.
- Once the government verifies the documents, the Ayushman card will be issued in the individual’s name and can be downloaded.
The Ayushman card is designed to assist those who are most in need. It is issued to individuals from various disadvantaged groups, including those working in the unorganized sector, poor or tribal people, individuals from rural areas, members of Scheduled Castes (SC) or Scheduled Tribes (ST), and families with persons with disabilities or daily wage laborers.
To check eligibility for the Ayushman card, individuals can visit the official Ayushman Yojana website https://beneficiary.nha.gov.in/ and verify their eligibility for the benefits.
