Google Pay Introduces New UPI Payment Features: Check Benefits

Google Pay: UPI payments and online transactions are prevalent in today’s digital world. Many people are interested in using UPI payments, and smartphones come with apps like PhonePe and Google Pay.

Google Pay has announced new features to improve its UPI payment services in this competitive landscape. The Global FinTech Fest 2024 has unveiled details of 6 features that aim to make digital payments more accessible and faster. Let’s take a look at these new features and their benefits.

UPI Circle Feature: This feature allows a primary UPI user to add a maximum of 5 secondary users to the account, allowing multiple people to use the same UPI account.

ClickPay QR for Bill Payment: Google Pay, in partnership with NPCI Bharat BillPay, has introduced support for ClickPay QR Scan (ClickPay QR), making bill payments easier by allowing users to scan QR codes instead of entering account details and user ID information.

UPI Voucher: Prepaid UPI Vouchers are issued to UPI users, the government, and corporate bodies. Thanks to Google Pay’s collaboration with the National Payments Corporation of India and the Department of Financial Services, beneficiaries can make payments without linking their bank accounts with these vouchers.

RuPay Card Tap and Pay: Google Pay has partnered with NPCI to introduce a tap-and-pay feature with the RuPay Card.

This feature allows cardholders to make quick and secure payments from their mobile phones without storing card details like 16-digit card numbers in Google Pay.

Prepaid Utility Payment: Google Pay will add prepaid utility payments to its recurring payment category, allowing consumers to link their energy accounts for quick UPI payments. Google focuses on providing a centralized platform for users to track and manage recurring payments.

Autopay on UPI Lite: Google Pay users will soon have access to the UPI Lite Autopay feature. This feature automatically tops up the UPI balance as soon as it gets low, eliminating users needing to manually add balance.
