Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has introduced a new ‘Application Form 6A’ to make it easier to claim a pension after retirement.
This form can be submitted online through the EPFO portal, resulting in faster pension claim settlement.
Previously, pension claims had to be made offline, which was time-consuming and challenging for retirees. However, the new Form 6A simplifies the process by allowing retirees to simultaneously enter their personal information, EPF, and bank account details, reducing manual documentation.
Critical features of Pension Form 6A:
- Contains personal and employment details of the employee
- Requires EPF account details to verify eligibility for pension
- Should include the bank account details of the employee for a more manageable pension payment
How to fill and submit Form 6A? The form can be filled out and submitted online through the EPFO portal or offline by obtaining it from the employer or downloading it from the EPFO website.
Once filled out, the form should be submitted to the employer, who will forward it to the EPFO office for processing. Retirees can easily claim their pension without delay by using Form 6A.
