The government has stated that it will soon issue ration cards to all eligible individuals. Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy mentioned that only 50,000 ration cards were sanctioned during the previous government. He assured us that new ration cards would be issued to all eligible individuals.
The minister also stated that new ration cards will be issued in the first week of October and that applications for new ration cards will be accepted by the public, providing a clear timeline for the next steps.
However, viral information on social media states that certain documents are required to obtain a new ration card and that new ration cards will be issued based on these documents.
Individuals must prepare a residence certificate, income certificate, and updated Aadhaar cards, which should be submitted along with the new ration card application.
Additionally, the CM has decided to introduce new ration cards with a different design from the old ones. The state code on the ration cards has been changed from TS to TG, and efforts are being made to issue new ration cards similar to smart cards, which will have a distinct and updated look.
CM Revanth mentioned that ration cards, in the form of new intelligent cards with TG print, are underway to ensure fairness for the common man.
It seems that new barcodes will be included on the newly issued cards. The Telangana state government reportedly plans to issue 15 lakh new ration cards on a large scale.
